Leading Ladies

Every woman here is someone I look up to.

Intelligent. Driven. Passion forward and legitimately whole-hearted. They are REAL GOLD.

I look to them not only for their leadership in their businesses but because of their collaborative spirit in a competitive world, where it’s easier (and widely accepted) to dismiss the other key voices in your community in order to only elevate your own.

Take their leads, then build your own throne just as they have, gold brick by gold brick.

Caroline Slaughter: Trailblazing Director & Activist

Caroline is a filmmaker compelled by female driven content that revolves around social issues. Her projects raise awareness, ignite conversation, and instigate change to empower women.

She graduated from the New School University, and launched her career as a performer in New York working in theater, commercials and on television shows like As The World Turns. She went on to perform and produce New York and London theater collaborating with writers like Beau Willimon (House of Cards), Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl), Billy Eichner (Difficult People) and Annie Baker (Pulitzer Prize Winner of The Flick) and institutions such as LAByrinth Theater Company, The Factory Theatre Company, The Public and The Flea.

Caroline made the transition to writing by working with Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, which led to co-writing a screenplay with Jay Lavender (The Break-Up) and developing the pilot Falsies with FX Networks. A move to Atlanta led to a commercial casting stint that has developed into a commercial directing career.

Caroline has most recently completed LAMB; a short that exposes the walk, taken by too many talented women in Hollywood, from lobby to hotel room where they were assaulted by sexual predators abusing their power. These women were led by female assistants, whom they thought they could trust. LAMB is a cautionary tale about women sacrificing women, but also considers the unrecognized victim in the complicty machine, the female assistant. The intention behind LAMB is to raise awareness and initiate conversation to support the female movement.

Caroline continues to work in commercials as a director, passionate about approaching brand content through a female lens, and as a voiceover for clients that include Holiday Inn, Subway, United Way and Coca-Cola.

Stephanie Anders: Visionary Body Artist/Piercer & Creator

“From humble beginnings come great things” can very much describe Stephanie’s ensuing voyage.

Her journey started 27 years ago growing up in very small towns in southern Iowa. She knew at a young age that she had an ever growing fascination with body modification.  Whether it be piercing or tattoos, she found herself intrigued by the methods that one could choose to modify their body to enhance their appearance.

In 2012, at the age of 20, she and her future husband headed west to California and hammered the pavement in search of a new studio to call “home” which she found in, Prix Body Piercing and Tattoo. In the next four years, her reputation as a “go-to” body piercer was earned by way of her meticulous attention to her clients and work ethic, also making her the personal body piercer to several celebrity clients & Hollywood elite.

She and her husband had always dreamed of one day opening their own tattoo & piercing studio and on January 12, 2016 they opened the doors of Royal Heritage Tattoo & Piercing.  Armed with an arsenal of talented tattoo artists, she integrated body piercing into the shop’s daily activities & stocked her jewelry cases with jewelry of the highest caliber.
It was here, at the age of 24, having seen her dreams come to fruition that she still had a strong yearning to create. Thus, she started yet another business, Royal Heritage Jewelry Co. Through this avenue, she has expanded from body jewelry designed for piercing to include gold teeth, engagement rings, and any other challenge a client may bring her.

Stephanie takes great pride in running a business, surrounding herself with talented artists & curating a professional establishment full of hard working, fun loving and genuinely good humans.

It’s no surprise that they are now off on their newest venture of expanding and moving their studio to beautiful Abbott Kinney Blvd in Venice! Looking to open fall 2018.
